This listing is for hand dyed silk hemp fabric in my Sonora palette, ideal for quilting and fabric art. This set is made up of four pieces of hand dyed silk hemp fabric measuring 14" by 18".
This palette is comprised of complex colors I mixed myself using primary hues -- you won't find these colors in a dye catalog! In the first picture the hues are from bottom right corner in clockwise order: prickly pear red, copper sandstone, salvia green, and mesquite taupe. They will work perfectly together in a fiber art project or quilt.
Silk hemp is soft and easy to hand stitch like silk, but has the added bonus of hemp. Hemp contributes durability and strength to this fabric. Hemp is a sustainable fiber that can be grown without pesticides or herbicides. The fabric is whitened with peroxide, not chlorine bleach.
These fabrics are ideal for fabric art. The silk hemp is easy to manipulate and stitch for piecing, weaving, or applique.
These fabrics are colorfast and preshrunk. Washed with fragrance free detergent and softener.
Made in pet free and smoke free studio.
