I made this indigo tea towel using natural indigo, a botanical extract that binds to fabric using a unique vat dye method. I created this kitchen towel by first waxing the fabric using a wax resist in my signature leaf block pattern. I then dipped the fabric into my indigo vat multiple times to achieve a dark blue. Where the wax cracked during this process, indigo seeped in and bonded with the fibers, adding to the beauty of the linen cloth.
